I don't speak russian, or french or whatever they are speaking, but I do know an old geezer mountainboarding when I see one, and that's exactly what they show in this video.
He's riding a nosno mountainboard, which is a solid looking board if you ask me.
I've never seen this all terrain board in my life before. It looks like a dirtsurfer but without the straps and a whole lot longer. I found the companies website http://mountainsurfer.orcon.net.nz/ and found that the surfari board is hand made in New Zealand and is about 20 inches long. They offer foot straps and damping kits for freestylers out there that want to hit jumps.
Don't know if any of you have seen this, but Jason Lee a snowboarder and mountainboarder did a backflip with a mountainboard over a pit full of gators on Ripley's Believe it or Not... check it out.
Boy would it be nice to be able to travel around to random mountainboarding parks and tear it up. Thats exactly what the MBS team gets to do, you'll see in the video below. Nice video and editing, the video goes well with the song.
I recently found this article that talks about a rangers experience with mountainboarding. Bottom line is they say that riders do not have much control while on their mountainboard, is this really true? I believe that with experience comes control, and that the ranger just like many first timers got intimidated by how difficult mountainboarding can be if you do not start slow.
And of course mountainboarding is dangerous if you are new to it and decide to bomb down a steep hill...
I figured I'd have a go and do some research on where people get foam pits for heavy tricks. I found this forum, and basically building a foam pit would be pretty pricey, as the type of foam you need costs more than regular foam. They also are saying that you really need to upkeep your pit and plan to have some kind of protection against whatever weather you may face, which is common sense.
Found this mountainboarding video on the French's version of Youtube, DailyMotion, that shows exactly what happens when you do not get a full rotation on a back flip.
Gaaahhhhh, thats exactly why so many people try mountainboarding tricks like the back flip in foam pits. But yet again, we all can't afford a nice foam pit to bust crazy-awesome mountainboarding tricks in.
Hello all, I found this two minute short that shows you how to put together a mountainboard. If you are new to mountainboarding and may be scared of taking appart your mountainboard for fear of not being able to assemble it back together then you should watch this video (of course it really isn't that difficult).
I wont lie, I had a difficult time dissasembling my trucks on my mountainboard the first time I tried, but after a couple of times of taking it appart to install new egg shocks into mbs comp 26x I got used to it.
The trucks by far are the hardest to put back together, sadly this video does not show how to dissasemble them, so if you are thinking about taking those appart be ready for the possibility of difficulty when putting them back together.
