Akoni Kama holds 30 mountainboard titles and is a mountainboarding pioneer. He has been boarding since the earlier days of mountainboarding and was recently featured in the Disney original film, "Johnny Kapahala: Back on Board."
If anyone can remember what his web site was like before he updated it (it hadn't been updated for several years, and the forum was infested with spam advertising x rated sites), you'll be pleased to know that it was recently redone.
They canned the forum, but there is now a store where you can buy mountainboarding gear and boards. check out Akoni Kama's updated site.
I love Dirtsurfers, don't get me wrong. They are great for speed, but they are pretty hard to jump with and boardslide with. This video is the first one I have seen of someone trying to boardslide with a Dirtsurfer.
There have been many times when I've been riding on my mountainboard and someone I'm riding by yells, "Do a trick!" I always say I can't do anything, because really, I didn't know of any and couldn't do anything.
I was just browsing around youtube when I came upon these two sweet videos. The first one has a sweet flatland mountainboarding trick that I have never seen before. I can't wait to try it out myself.
The second vid is just full of sweet mountainboarding tricks, along with several that I have never seen anyone do before.
Just goes to show that there is room in mountainboarding for more tricks!
