After tying a rope to a car, and having my brother tow me around on a road, I noticed that the fastest I was able to ride without getting speed wobble was 25 mph.  Once I hit 25 mph speed wobble would start.

25 mph on a board feels pretty darn fast, I don't really have a huge desire to go any faster, but I'm wondering if anyone else has tested and found out what speed they start to get speed wobble at.

If you know what the speed is, I'm also interested in what board you were riding and what kind of shocks you had in (if you had any).

Didn't you JUST get your mountainboard??? You jumped into it fast! Have you mountainboarded before?

How do you like the 95x?

Yeah JUST got it!! haha im pretty crazy/stupid about stuff like this though!  The Comp 95X is super nice, the only other board i have riden was a mongoose board from along time ago that was for someone way smaller than me...the deck is super stiff and still nice and springy and the 9in wheels make going over rough ground not a problem at all! Im super pleased with it, though i wish it were alittle less pricy i dropped like $500 to get it, and for someone who has never done much mountain boarding thats a nice chunck of change.

Keep a eye out, this sport has taken some of the most hardcore riders and have broked dem good. It happens to all of us and respect is something you need, work your way up or you might end up in a bad place, wishing you could ride.

This sport is considered a death sport but it's not. It becasue people push it or already have a death wish. Its just easy to get caried away but I think if you work out the little stuff it goes a long way when you get in a position where you see your life flash.

When I fisrt started everyone thought they saw me die becasue I got to cocky I was fine but if I didn't have a full face I wouldn't have been, cryen about this.

I just seen a lot of x-sports and a lot of ways to really mess yourself up.

If you want to still ride when your 40 you will ride with care, I'm not saying don't push it, I am saying get to know your board 4 a good 2 years before the super knar.

Now with all that said

Fastest into a jump- 30+mph
Fastest on boarder-x- 25-30mph
Fastest hill bomb- 45-50mph
Fastest skich(off the back of the car)- 50

How were you able to go 50mph? That is insanely fast, what board where you using?

Also, you fell going that fast?! I can't imagine how that felt.

What board do you ride? i assume your riding a MBS...did you get the hard rubber eggs? Do you notice less speed wobble the tighter you make the suspension?

Speed wobbles can be prevented to some degree by making simple adjustments.  Most manufacturers have a number of suspension adjustment features built into their boards.  The "Speed Wobbles" article on MountainBoard.net offers some good tips.  Bottom line though, understanding your boards limits by experiencing it for yourself is the best way to progress as a rider.  Good luck.
