Just wondering who here has raced in a boardercross event. I would love to get involved in one, but I think my location hinders that possibility.

So who here has raced before? If you have done it before I'm curious about it. How much fun was it for you? How much did it cost to enter? How many people were there in total? How many people raced at a time?

Would LOVE to try it out some day, seems like it would be great fun.

Boarder-x is most of the time 4 to 3 racers, down a long windy track with jumps, berms, and more.

Any where from 100 to 30 people will race in all the divisions youth, open, womens, pros..

Its fast paced and anything goes the best might lose and the worst might win..

I've seen many people get hurt during boarder-x, and I would be one of them but the excitment of the race is what people come back for...

They don't have boarder-x everywhere its only at events with tracks. Like Snowmass, Colorado and South Heaven, Kansas etc.

The flyer will tell you if they have a track or not most of the time.

It will cost around $25 to $60 to enter

The races do seem pretty exciting.  I've only watched videos, but of what I have seen, several times the person in last would get lucky and win because everyone ahead of them runs into eachother and wipes out.

How did you hurt yourself? How many times have you raced?

What are berms? I'm a newb when it comes to boarding terms.

berms are sloped banks that you ride off of when you go around a gate.

these bikers are turning using a berm.

mastering berms, pumping over rollers, and having really quick reaction time for the start is key in boarderx . In my first 2 races this season (snowboardcross), one guy who was semi-pro was able to use every single feature of the course to gain speed. If you do a berms correctly, you should come out of the turn going faster than when you entered. There is so much to this type of racing, its crazy. Can't wait to try it on a mountainboard!

I flew ot of a berm top speed in the final race of 2002 US Nationals the 18+ am division the other 2 guys piled and I got the hole shot.

Coming in the 5th burm very fast, I didn't make the turn and flew out the back side there was only steaks and rocks to stop me. Some how I messed the sign posts and saw rocks inces in front of me face, thanks to my full face they wern't in my face.

As I stop my board knocks me out and thats the short story..

How many time I have raced?

To many times to count.

Your board knocked you in the head, and knocked you out even with your helmet on? Wow, it must have hit you in the head really hard.
