Hey, I've been snowboarding for a long time and I want to get into mountain boarding, but I've got some questions:

-what type of board would you reccommend for someone who has a background in freestyle/downhill snowboarding?

-what other gear should I look at? (eg. shoes, helmets/pads, trucks/suspension, brakes, etc

Also, I'm from Buffalo, so if there's anyone on here who's from the western NY area and could reccommned some good parks or trails to board I'd appreciate it.

Hey Libran,

The MBS Comp 95 is a good mountainboard for downhill and freestyle.

Gear that I think are a MUST, helmet, knee pads, elbow pads. Gear that I also recommend are gloves and some butt protection.

I hate landing on my tailbone, so I have some hillbilly padded shorts that work good.

If you plan on riding on narrow trails or down steep steep slopes, a brake is sometimes nice to have. If you decide to not get one, you can still stop by powersliding. I don't have a brake, and I get by fine.

I'm not from NY, but if I happen to hear of any good places to ride out there, I'll let you know.

good luck!
