hi all !

Maybe will you think I'm dumb (and maybe will you be right), but I have a question about the pressure in the wheels : I have a scrub moutainboard (with skate style trucks) and it's written "max pressure 2.5 bars", but, as I bought it on ebay a few days ago, I'm not sure about the pressure I should put inside... I've read that the higher pressure you'll have, the faster you'll be, but I want to use it for jumping and riding downhill. I am a skater for a few year already, what is the best pressure I should put inside my tyres ? I was thinking to use it with 2.2 or 2.4 bars, is it a good idea ?

Thanks for your help,

Not a dumb question at all, the only thing that would be dumb would be to over-inflate your tires and then have them pop on the way down a hill

I would do 2.2 bars.

How do you like your new scrub mountainboard?

thanks for your help, I'll go to the petrol station to inflate it this afternoon. It's a nice board for carving, but a little bit too long for freestyle... I put some photos in my gallery if you want to see it. I'm thinking to use a skate tray for freestyle, but I'll have to put 2 or 3 layers of gla%$ fiber to ensure that it won't break on a big jump (I mean when I'll land...). I know that a skate tray will be less stable, but a lot lighter and shorter, so I'll be able to do 540 and other nice tricks without any problem !

I'll put some rides photos when I'll do some ...

hi !

I've inflated my wheels at 2.2 bars and went for a fisrt off-road session... It's amazing ! it's so fast and so different from everything else I tried before ! The scrub board is not so heavy than I was thinking : I managed to do my first melon this afternoon, only 30mn after the start (the second one was ok as I crashed myself on my first try : I land too much on the front of the board... LOL).

2.2 bars is so a nice pressure if you are a medium rider on a snowboard as the control is quite similar, even if the stick is different and non uniform (you'll fall on your back a lot of times before doing your first nice powerslide).

For beginners, I think 1.8 bars is better (less speed...)

good point, If you are new I would deffinetely recommend not inflating your tires to their full pressure just so you can get the feel of riding first without going blazing fast down a hill, road or trail.

There is nothing more enjoyable than going fast and powersliding on wet grass, everyone has to try it.  When I started doing powerslides I would slide a little and then the board would stop but my body wouldnt so I would fly a couple of feet off of the mountainboard, overall learning to powerslide was and enjoyable experience.
